Justly famous for some incredible off-piste, Chamonix also offers wonderfully inspiring slopes for beginners and intermediates. Unlike modern resorts, Chamonix existed well before skiing, let alone snowboarding, were ever dreamt about. So there is a huge wealth of cultural and other sporting activities all only an hour's drive from Geneva! (see maps on next page)
Alternatively discover the mountains from another perspective, on snow shoes, cross-country or touring skis, a hanglider or by paragliding. You can ice-climb a frozen waterfall or mountain bike along the valley floor in spring.
For a day’s pampering there are the thermal baths close by, or a massage in your own chalet, or a relaxing swim in the aquatic centre. Alternatively a gentle game of tennis on one of the many indoor courts.
