As with all mountain climates the Chamonix Valley has plenty of weather to offer!  Mild, moist air comes in from the west, cold Arctic air from the north, dry continental air (hot in summer and cold in winter) from the east, and Mediterranean air arrives from the south.

With its high elevation in the Alps Chamonix benefits from a long winter season lasting from December to May and has an excellent snow record.  In the summer months the valley is generally hot and sunny whilst it is pleasantly cool higher up in the mountains.
