Instructors
Skiing with an instructor improves confidence and technique and encourages you to make the most of your skiing day. Skiing instruction can be arranged with any of the accredited national or private schools, and your children can start learning from the age of 3 years.
Chamonix offers group and private instruction through the Ecole de Ski (ESF) - (Winter Price list 23 24) - and a number of other independent organisations. Due to this competition, the level of instruction remains high and all the instructors we book will happily teach ski or snowboarding, in English or French.

Private Lessons
For adults, children or friends of similar ability it works best to hire a private instructor who will tailor a programme. We know many of the instructors personally since we work with them all year. We can therefore book the best instructor for your needs, whether you are looking for challenging off-piste or patient coaching. We work mostly with the ESF, who we have found to offer the best instruction, service and flexibility. If you book an instructor for a full day or a half day we can arrange for the instructor to pick you up from your chalet.
Group Lessons
As well as the private instructors, we arrange group lessons for all levels and these mainly run in the mornings. They are available as five or six consecutive half days. At certain times there is an afternoon option. For friends of mixed abilities, group lessons are wonderful for encouraging all levels and are a cheaper alternative to private instruction.
Ski Schools for Children
Ecole de Ski Francais (ESF)
Two ski areas, Les Planards and Le Savoy, are reserved for children (3 – 12 years) and beginners. Tuition is available for all levels and abilities. There are group lessons in the morning and/or afternoon for six consecutive days (2.5 hours per day) or for six consecutive full days (9am - 4.30pm). Alternatively, the Kids Club takes full care of your children for half or full day sessions which include ski lessons, games, supervision and lunch (lunch also available for half days except at peak times).
For children aged 8 – 12 years lessons are available further up the mountain during French school holidays. If your children like racing, chose one of the competition groups.
Juniors aged 13 and above join in the adult group lessons.
Evolution 2
A privately run ski school club based at the Panda club in Argentière, close to the Grands Montets cablecar. Tuition is available for all levels and ability for half-days or full-days from 3 years. Younger children are based at the ski kindergarten with its dedicated ski slope and lift and indoor play area. There are tests every Friday for all ski school participants. Maximum group size of 8.
All your instruction can be booked through our office and at certain peak periods advance booking is strongly recommended.
